Stop doing marketing guys. It's useless.

If you’re in business long enough, you’re going to hear some bizarre things coming out of people mouth’s.  

Yesterday I was meeting with a friend, and he has a plumbing business in a city (I won’t name it).  

Anyway I asked him how things we’re going and he said it’s been a bit slow. So I said that’s sad to hear, what are you doing marketing wise?  

He said marketing doesn’t work in his city. I thought wow  must be the only city in the world where marketing doesn’t work.  So I asked him, does it not work for you or does it not work for anyone?  He told me that the whole city was full of cheapskates.

So I googled roofers in his city and it turns out there’s about 20 roofing companies running ads.  These people are paying money every month and they’ve been doing so for over two years (you can check in the ad tool).  

And he tells me no no he’s sure because he tried running ads for around four weeks and it didn’t work.  

So I was very disappointed because I thought we had a scientific breakthrough but no not even a little. This guy was basically telling me that he went to the gym for four weeks and couldn’t bench press 200 Kilos, the gym is a scam doesn’t work.
